Shopify MCP server: connect Shopify to Claude and ChatGPT
Junction is an MCP server for Shopify. Shopify is an online store platform. Its orders show what the advertising actually sold.
What Junction reads from Shopify
- Orders with their date, sales channel, payment status, total, subtotal and discounts (test and cancelled orders left out)
Answers come from your own account, with the platform and the time the data was read.
Questions you could ask about Shopify
- “How much did the store sell each day last week?”
- “How many orders came from each sales channel this month?”
- “What were total discounts last month, and how do sales compare with ad spend?”
Access it needs
Junction needs an Admin API access token with the read_orders permission (and read_all_orders for orders older than 60 days) and the shop address.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there an MCP server for Shopify?
- Yes. Junction is an MCP server that connects Shopify to Claude and ChatGPT. You add one address to your AI tool, sign in, and ask about Shopify in plain English. The same address also covers your other platforms, so one question can compare them.
- Can the AI change anything in my Shopify account?
- No. Junction only reads. It cannot create, edit, pause or delete a campaign, an ad or a budget, and it never spends money. We also ask you to authorise it with the narrowest access that can read results.
- What access does Junction need for Shopify?
- Junction needs an Admin API access token with the read_orders permission (and read_all_orders for orders older than 60 days) and the shop address.
- Do I need a separate connection for each Shopify account?
- You add each account you want to include as a connection, and each person sees only the accounts an administrator allows.
