What it is

An answer engine for your job-cost and project data.

Junction is a read-only connector that lets Claude or ChatGPT answer questions from a contractor’s accounting and project systems, including older on-premise ones such as Sage 300 CRE and Vista. Add one address to your AI tool, sign in, and ask in plain English. Junction fetches the figures from your own systems, with the source rows and the time each was last updated. It cannot change your data, payroll and personal records are excluded by default, and we never run the AI model, so there is no extra AI bill.

01 · How it works

Three steps from your systems to an answer.

  1. 01

    Connect your systems

We set up a secure, read-only link to your accounting and project systems. A small outbound-only program handles older on-premise systems.

  2. 02

Add us to Claude or ChatGPT

Add one connector to the AI tool your team already uses. No new app to learn.

  3. 03

    Ask in plain English

Get answers with the source data one click away, and the time each figure was last updated.

Questions you can ask

  • “Which jobs are over budget on labor this month?”
  • “What is our over/under billing across all open jobs?”
  • “Show subcontractor commitments that have no approved change order.”
  • “Which vendors have invoices unpaid for more than 45 days?”

Frequently asked questions

What is Junction?

Junction is a read-only connector that lets Claude or ChatGPT answer questions from a contractor's accounting and project systems. You add one address to your AI tool, sign in, and ask in plain English, for example which jobs are over budget on labor this month. Junction fetches the figures from your own systems and returns them with the time they were last updated.

Which AI tools does it work with?

Claude and ChatGPT, through their custom-connector feature (ChatGPT requires a plan with developer mode enabled by a workspace admin). Junction uses the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools and data, so other assistants that support it can be added. Gemini and Copilot are on our list and are not supported yet.

Is Junction read-only? Can the AI change my accounting data?

It is read-only. Junction only ever issues read queries, built from a fixed, signed data model, and nothing in the connector can create, edit or delete a record. We also ask you to use database logins and API keys that have read permission only, as a second layer of protection.

Does it work with on-premise systems like Sage 300 CRE or Vista?

That is a main purpose of it. For systems that cannot be reached from the internet, a small Junction agent runs on your own server and connects outward over HTTPS, so you open no inbound firewall ports. The agent only runs queries it builds itself from a signed data model; the cloud never sends it SQL. Support for each system is in early access.

Is payroll or employee data exposed to the AI?

No. Payroll and personal records are excluded by default: they are refused in questions and filters and do not appear in the data catalogue the AI sees. You can also limit each person in your company to certain systems, kinds of data and jobs.

Do you run the AI model, and does it cost extra?

We do not run any AI model. You use your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, and any usage is billed by them. Junction only supplies the data when the assistant asks for it.

Where does my data go and is it stored?

When you ask a question, Junction fetches just the rows needed from your system and returns them to your AI tool, passing through our servers in transit. Answers are not stored. We keep an audit log of who asked which tool and system and whether it succeeded, never the values asked for or returned. Systems read through the agent keep their working copy on your own machine.

Which construction systems can it connect to?

The early-access list is Vista, Spectrum, Foundation, Sage 300 CRE, ComputerEase, CMiC, QuickBooks Desktop, Autodesk Build, e-Builder and Owner Insite. We bring each one online with a customer who runs it, so that answers can be checked against their own reports. Nothing is marked live until that has happened.

How much does it cost?

We have not published prices yet. We are in early access and set up each customer ourselves. Reach out to sales and we will give you a quote based on the systems you run and how many people will use it.
