How Junction connects to Spectrum

Like Vista, Spectrum runs on SQL Server. Junction reads it with a login that can only read, directly when it is hosted and reachable, or through the Junction agent when it sits inside the customer's network.

Questions you could ask about Spectrum

  • “Show cost to date against budget for every open job.”
  • “Which jobs are billed ahead of cost (overbilled) right now?”
  • “What did we spend with each vendor on this job last quarter?”

Answers come from your own system, with the source rows and the time the data was last updated.

What to know

  • Payroll and personal data are denied by default.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an MCP server for Spectrum?
Yes. Junction is an MCP server that connects Trimble Spectrum to Claude and ChatGPT. We set it up with you and check the answers against your own reports.
How is Spectrum set up?
We build each system's data model with a customer who runs it, so that the answers can be checked against their own reports.
Can I ask about Spectrum payroll?
No. Payroll and personal records are excluded by default so that an AI assistant cannot expose them. That is a default you control, not something the assistant can change.
