Connect Vista to Claude and ChatGPT

Vista keeps its data in SQL Server, so Junction reads it with a read-only database login. For Vista hosted by Viewpoint, the customer asks Viewpoint Support to allow Junction's fixed addresses (this usually takes a day or two). For Vista on the customer's own servers, the small Junction agent runs inside their network and connects outward, so no inbound firewall port is opened.

Answers come from your own system, with the source rows and the time the data was last updated.

• Payroll and employee records are excluded by default, even though they sit in the same database.
• Junction builds only read queries from a signed data model. Nothing it sends can change your Vista data.
• Early access: the Vista mapping has been built on a reconstructed schema and still needs checking against a real installation with a design partner.

Can Claude or ChatGPT query Vista directly?

Not by themselves. They need a connector. Junction is that connector: you add one address to Claude or ChatGPT, sign in, and ask questions that Junction answers from your Vista database, read-only.

Does Junction change anything in Vista?

No. It issues read-only queries built from a fixed, signed data model, and we ask you to use a database login that has read permission only, as a second layer of protection.

Do I need to open my firewall for Vista?

No. For Vista on your own servers the Junction agent connects outward over HTTPS. For Vista hosted by Viewpoint, the host allows Junction's addresses to reach the database.
