Dynamics GP MCP server: connect Dynamics GP to Claude and ChatGPT

Dynamics GP is Microsoft's on-premise accounting system on SQL Server. Microsoft no longer sells it to new customers, but many contractors and owners still run it. Junction is a read-only MCP server for construction software, and Dynamics GP is in its next wave of systems.

How Junction connects to Dynamics GP

Dynamics GP can be read two ways: through its API with read-only credentials your administrator authorises, or, where it runs on your own servers, through a read-only database login. For servers that cannot be reached from the internet, the small Junction agent runs inside your network and connects outward, so no inbound firewall port is opened. Dynamics GP's API or table documentation is available only to customers or partners, so building this connector needs a customer who can share it with us.

Questions you could ask about Dynamics GP

  • “What is our payables aging by vendor?”
  • “How do this year's expenses by department compare with last year's?”
  • “Which purchase orders are open but not yet received?”

Answers come from your own system, with the source rows and the time the data was last updated.

What to know

  • Not available yet. Dynamics GP is in Junction's next wave of systems: widely used (markets: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Middle East) and readable without writing to it. We build each mapping from the vendor's own reference and check it with a customer who runs the system before calling it live.
  • Integration routes found in our research: SQL (direct DB), ODBC, SOAP, SDK only.
  • When we researched this in October 2026 we found no MCP server from the vendor.
  • Payroll and personal data are denied by default.
